Driving-licence recovery · Slovenia
zacasniodvzem.si
Someone arrives here having just lost their driving licence. They want two things before they finish the first screen: what happens now, and how long they have.

The deadline is three days, and it is halfway down a page you have to know to open
We checked the live site rather than assuming. The landing page is a navigation hub — menus for Predlogi, Naloge and Pritožbe, and no deadline anywhere on it. The three-day window to lodge an objection against a temporary withdrawal is real, and it sits about halfway down an inner page, under a heading about when the decision arrives. A visitor who does not already know which of eleven situations is theirs cannot find it, and the cost of not finding it is not a worse experience. It is a missed legal deadline.
So the home page answers before it explains
The redesign puts a triage at the top. You say which thing happened to you — licence taken, decision on cancellation, vehicle seized — and it returns your deadline, what the withdrawal actually means, what can still be done, what the firm does about it, and a link to the page that documents it. It is the shortest route from a frightened person to the one fact that is time-critical for them.

Every deadline carries the page it came from
Each situation in the triage has a source field naming the page where that deadline is written out. The rule at the top of the file is that no deadline is inferred, rounded or invented. Three days, eight days, fifteen days — each one traces to a sentence somebody can go and read. On most sites a wrong number is an embarrassment. Here it is a person missing the only window they had, so the number gets a citation.

The content rule: shortening allowed, adding not
Every word was migrated one-to-one from a snapshot of the live site, and the raw source text of all eighteen pages is kept in the repository as the reference for any dispute. Rearranging and cutting are permitted; adding is not. Copy written for the new layout that has no source is marked as a proposal and goes on a list for the client to approve rather than quietly becoming a legal claim nobody made. The typos in the customer testimonials are preserved deliberately — correcting somebody's testimony is editing it.
Why the fonts are 56 KB instead of 209
Google's `latin` subset does not contain č, š or ž. Serving Slovenian from it means falling through to `latin-ext` for the whole family, which was 209 KB. The fonts are self-hosted and subset from the character set the content actually uses — derived from the content files, not guessed — which brought it to 56 KB. The eighteen pages carry roughly fourteen thousand words of legal text; each page is its own lazy chunk, so none of it is in the first load.
Where it stands
All eighteen pages are built and prerendered to static HTML with their own titles, descriptions and sitemap entries. The form backend is not connected yet — it is a one-line adapter swap — and until it is, the form tells the visitor that submission is not live rather than silently discarding what they typed. Outstanding for the client: the backend, a vector logo, and whether one success claim on an inner page stays.
